Chronology of cameras Agfa
The Isolette III is a 6 x 6 horizontal folding camera that uses 120 film, built from around 1952 to around 1957. This model coexisted with the Isolette II, from which it takes its general characteristics and aesthetics, but it is significantly more advanced because it has a non-coupled rangefinder and shutter/lens units that are usually more capable.
__________This variant of the Isolette III is notably equipped with a Synchro-Compur shutter with speeds up to 1/500 second and a Solinar 3.5/75 mm lens, which was the best available from the brand at that time. The lens consists of 4 elements in 3 groups, similar to the Tessar design.
This combination makes this version the undisputed top of the Isolette series (excluding the Super Isolette). Even though it lacks a light meter and the rangefinder is not coupled, this set-up has been recognized for producing excellent shots and for being easy to use and carry everywhere due to its lightweight and compact size for a medium-format camera.
Even today, it is sought after not only for collecting but also for regular use by enthusiasts, particularly in the United States.
