You can see that this is one of the first Royflex models, not only because its serial number is 5772, but also for its obvious resemblance with the Rex Reflex. Actually, the Rex Reflex's moulds have been used to produce the Royflex. Later, the body and especially the top cover would be modified.

The taking lens is a Som Berthiot 4,5/75 mm and the shutter goes from 1/10th to 1/350 of a second. The two lenses are coupled and the coupling gears are hidden behind a plate. There is a self-timer too.

All my thanks to Yves Moreau for his precisions on the differences between Royflex I and Royflex II. On the Royflex II, the shutter goes from 1 second to 1/350th of a second and there are two flash plugs. (F and X)

The Royflex brand is registered , the 23 february 1954 by SITO, Société Industrielle de Technique Optique, 12 rue de l'avenir, Fontenay sous Bois (Seine).

There is a small unusual metal part on this camera; it's placed down on the left of the body (not easy to see on this picture), at the same level with the shutter release lever. It has an internal screw thread on the left side and a very small hole on the other. Actually it's for a shutter release cable, which has to have a rod long enough to push shutter mechanism.
