Chronology of cameras Fed
The FED 4 is the first model of the brand to have a light cell. It is a manual selenium cell.
- 35 mm full-frame rangefinder , interchangeable lens mount in "universal Leica " 39mm thread
- Cell: selenium Exposure. abacus on a large wheel that takes the place of the rewind knob . The window of the light meter pointer is an arc
- Rewind with a toothed wheel located on the left side face of the housing .
- Removable back with opening by two locks on its baseeplate
- Curtains type shutter
- Shutter speeds selected by a wheel on the cover : from 1 second to 1/500 + B. - Ssync flash speed is 1/30 sec.
- Accessory shoe
- Integrated in eyepiece dioptric adjustment
- Shutter cocking lever with reminder of the type of film in use and mechanical views counter at its base.
- Full frame viewfinder for 50 mm with integrated round and dew range image.
- Synchro flash and mechanical self timer
On this specimen, "FED 4 " is written in Cyrillic and Latin. On other ones , it can be written only in Cyrillic .
