Chronology of cameras Bolsey
Created in 1956 by Jacques Bolsey, this miniature device combines a still camera and a mechanical motor-driven movie camera. It uses 8 mm film in a specific reversible cassette, producing frames of 6 x 3 mm. The frame counter indicates the remaining film length in feet.
Unfortunately, the interchangeable Navitar lens did not live up to the camera's manufacturing standards. A rare Bolsey-Elgeet Cinematar Telephoto 2X telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens were available as additional options.
There is a simplified model, manufactured in Switzerland, called the Bolsey 8 Uniset (1961), and a more advanced model, the Bolsey CIN S 8 (with a light meter and a better lens).
Although it was not widely embraced by the general public, it was purchased in large numbers by various US federal government agencies.
