Chronology of cameras Apple

In a distant era when Apple was still a pioneer in personal computing, and its users (myself included) were dreamers, digital photography was in its infancy with a few models whose technical performances are now quite outdated.

Apple embarked on this new adventure around 1994 with a small series of devices in an anthracite color, similar to that of the Powerbooks, Apple's laptops of the time. The prices were very high. The specifications were modest by today's standards but groundbreaking for that time."

The first two models had a very distinctive design, with a sliding front face that revealed the lens and the front window of the viewfinder, a flattened and rounded overall shape. It is protected by design patent 359,974 and was created by Marc van de Loo, who was also responsible for the design of the keyboards for the early iMacs.

The digital camera venture was short-lived at Apple, much like the Newton, Pipp!n, and PowerCD. Apple was struggling, and it took the return of Steve Jobs to reconnect with success (iPod, iMac, iPhone, iPad, etc.).

The first Quicktake is only usable by Macintosh owners. The connectivity and recording format make it incompatible with Windows PCs.
