Chronology of cameras Hanimex

This camera is attributed to Haking.

Studying Haking's production is interesting because the successive model releases reflect the evolution of photographic technologies. For instance, there were additions like an electronic flash, film advancement through a motor, recognition of high-sensitivity films, film advancement and rewinding, DX coding recognition, and then automatic flashes.

In this model, film advancement is handled by a motor, but rewinding still occurs manually with a crank. One could assume that MD stands for Motor Drive. The flash requires manual activation.

The Hanimex 35 MDX closely resembles it but has the capability to use 1000 ASA films. One might assume that the X stands for eXtended.
