Chronology of cameras Kodak
Kodak Boy Scout has been designed on the basis of Vest Pocket model B,without the autographic function by the industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague.
At the release period of the Boy Scout, Kodak has produced several colour cameras like the series of Petite or also the Vanity. These cameras targeted the "elegant." women as customers.
Kodak used several times the idea to go for a particular type of customers with a dedicated camera model, so other "Scout" cameras made their appearances such as "Camp Fire Girl's", "Girl Scout" or also "Girl Guide". Kodak played on the diversity of scout groups. Herbert George, in the 60s, was also able to take advantage of the situation.
The entire camera is olive green. The bellows is of rather poor quality fabric, this fabric also covers the body of the device.
The Scout badge which represent the bald eagle, emblematic bird of the USA, has been reproduced on the trapdoor. There is an English version with a lily as a symbol on which Kodak solved the quality problem of the bellows fabric by replacing it with black leather.
