Chronology of cameras Astre
The chambre folding à deux obturateurs is a beautiful camera made of varnished mahogany. Its bellows are made of leather, ensuring resistance for double extension.
It has the particularity of having two shutters: a central one, placed at the front, with a maximum speed of 1/100, and a second one, of the focal plane type, with a curtain, placed in front of the plate, allowing for a speed of up to 1/2500.
Moreover, the lens is easily interchangeable. Such a configuration was likely to interest the sports photographer.
In line with Astre's usual practice (and other retailers), a range of models was established by only changing the lens quality sold with the camera:"
