Chronology of cameras Leroy
Introduced as early as 1903, this camera was still featured in catalogs in the early thirties. It is therefore not surprising to find some small differences from one camera to another.
For example, on the model presented, serial number 3505, one can notice that the "ARMEZ" (cock) button has a "half acorn" shape.
The identification plate is copper, as is the double spirit level.
More anecdotal on later models is the engraved mention: "Un bon conseil Nettoyer les objectifs" ("A good tip Clean the lenses"). This mention is found on the Stereo-Panoramic No. 11440. Will you be able to spot it? This mention is not yet present on another model I own with the serial number 7133.
The camera presented here is equipped with two E. Krauss Paris lenses "TESSAR f/6.8 with a focal length of 83 mm." This camera was also equipped by many other opticians.
