Chronology of cameras Peck

Traduction de Manuel M

Strange affair! The seller is called Peck (the spelling of the name indicates an English or American origin). First part of the name of the models seems well connected well with its name (Pecto-Peck). On the other hand the second part, Monroe, as well as the address connect it with that of the Monroe brand, whose a publicity quotes as addresses of retailers an identical address. However, the Monroe brand had disappeared in 1899, following the merger with several other brands within Rochester Camera and Optical Company. The engraving resembles certain Rochester cameras.

Would this retailer have had the right to sell under his own (pseudo) brand a part of the cameras Monroe/Rochester? The mystery remains whole.
