Cosina CS-1 has the characteristic to be a semi-automatic which can be automated while mounting on the clip the adapter AEC which brings under control the barrel speeds. To ensure the electric connection between the accessory and the camera, there exists on the right of the lens (non visible on the photograph), a catch which resembles the catch synchro flash. The two catches are located besides one above the other. The diameter of connections is different in order to avoid the erroneous connections. The body, once this connected accessory, becomes automatic with priority with the aperture. There is no recall of the value of the aperture in the finder.
The CS-1 is the substitute and the twin of Cosina CS-R. It is characterized some however by mounting from the lenses. On the CS-1, it is about mounting K of Pentax whereas previously, it was about screw mounting with diameter 42.
The CS-2 and CS-3 were presented at the same time as the CS-1. The CS-2 is identical to the CS-1, but allows only operation in automatic mode. The CS-3 is a disengageable automatic.
