Le DSX 500 est une version moins chère du DSX 1000. Pour réduire le coût, l'obturateur plafonne à 1/500, l'objectif livré avec le boîtier est un 2/50 mm. Il n'a que la mesure "Spot".
Le retardateur est absent, ainsi que la griffe pour accessoire.
