Chronology of cameras Plavic
Ce Plavic série H comme tous les autres appareils Plavic provient d'un sous-traitant. Si pour les box, le lien avec Natali, Collo et cie est bien établi, le fabricant des foldings n'est pas toujours identifié. L'idée pour Plavic était de compléter son catalogue de papier, films et chimie pour la photographie avec des appareils à son nom.
Quatre folding Plavic 6 x 9 cm sont proposés sur le catalogue Omnium 1931 :

Si on les regarde attentivement, on s'aperçoit qu'il s'agit de quatre déclinaisons d'un modèle unique. Les différences sont au niveau des finitions, des modèles d'obturateur et d'objectif.
La série H est la version haut de gamme de ces modèles. Elle se distingue par un gainage en maroquin de couleur havane, et sans doute, une couleur de soufflet en accord. On retrouve les mêmes objectifs et obturateur que sur la série C, mais il est aussi possible d'acheter le série H avec un Boyer Topaz.
Plavic's presence can be traced back to the 1919 Photo-Plait catalog. It wasn't a camera manufacturer but rather specialized in producing film rolls and "film blocks." The manufacturer's name was the Société des Celluloses Planchon based in Lyon. Their production was limited to the cellulose base, as the emulsions were sourced from Lumière.
The Plavic Film company was established in June 1927 and, in an effort to diversify, decided to market cameras under the Plavic and Plavico brand names.
This company ceased to exist on December 31, 1930. It was fully absorbed by the Lumière company.
