Chronology of cameras Demaria Jules
The format of this stereo camera developed by Richard: is 45 X 107 mm. This minimalist plate camera offers one shutter speed and B or T exposure. Three apertures are possible. To select a diaphragm you must move a central cursor that controls a metal plate pierced with three holes of different diameters.
As stated in the 1922 Omnium catalog (page 26), this stereo camera is a device for everyone. It is simple, cheap and can be acquired in a complete set including everything needed for taking photos, developing and viewing. Only chemicals and plates are not included, probably considered as consumables.
If we compare its total cost to one of the simplest camera, we can say that this kit had been the subject of many Christmas bonus gift. Yet this does not prevent it from being quite scarce today.
