Chronology of cameras Zeh
There have been two versions of the Bettax.
The first, from 1931, has strange triangles at the tensioning arms.
The second version, from 1936, is the one that is the subject of this presentation. It has been declined in many lens-shutter combinations.
The identification of this camera is easy, because its name is embossed in the body leatherette. However, the brand is not externally visible and it is necessary to open the camera to discover, in the film housing, a magnificent decalcomania bearing the brand logo.
As confirmed by the viewfinder, it is a bi-format camera: 6 x 9 or 4.5 x 6 cm.
This camera is very well manufactured and, despite its almost 80 years, still in very good condition. No concession has been made to quality. The body is, with equivalent technical characteristics, thicker and heavier than the competitors.
Take a close look at the erroneous representation of the camera on the Central Photo catalog page of 1939. The bevel at the bottom of the device does not exist in reality, it is only due to a "slippage" of the typographer hand... In 1939 prohibition was over.
