Since about fifteen years, the digital cameras scrambled the tracks a little. The absence of mechanics and mobile obligor allowed a great freedom of forms and the cameras resemble ciné-cameras or telephones (unless it is not the reverse), but there is more than 45 years, a camera as Dial is completely atypical. What appears of a great banality today then seemed left the phantasms Dick, Clarke and Asimov together.
Admittedly, in April 1968, Barbarella wriggles of weightlessness and the blocks are about to take off, but, Canon is satisfied to make some new with some old. The 35-2 is only one small evolution of Dial 35, left five years before. The performances of the spring engine were improved (25 images after, at a rate of 2 images a second), the sensitivity did from 500 to 1000 Iso.
Outside, the two generations are distinguished thanks to the black plate with the top from the lens.
