Here a rarity! a still-born camera which was never really marketed.
The few rare specimens which circulated left trace only in certain classifieds of Photo-Review of the years 49-50 where it episodically is met.
The origin of its creation must be allocated with the S.I.A.P. (Société Industrielle d'Appareils de Précision, 20, rue du centenaire à Puteaux) around 1949.
The S.I.A.P. had been made known on the market by the “BOBY-MAG”, small winder 24x36 very well designed.
Derived of Boby-Mag, this corporate carried out then small the 24x24 hunter of pictures “Memox”. It was the very first model, already very metal, of rather primitive and rustic construction, entirely frosted black. (shutter ATOS I, lens SAPHIR BOYER of 3.5).
This small Memox was started again and distributed then by the corporate ALSAPHOT which gave him a brother with the format 24x36, and especially a completion much more luxurious which renovated the model completely.
