Chronology of cameras ActionSampler
Before it became the Lomography ActionSampler1, this camera type had a less happy career, often ending up at the bottom of a drawer.
Its first mention in the French press dates back to September 1991. Gérard Bouhot presented it for Phot'argus.
It was then called Revolver Selby and sold for around 300 francs in gadget stores. It is intended to take four tiny photos (the 24 x 36 mm negative is split into four) of a single subject in a very short time, in order to have a semblance of a strobe effect. All four photos are taken with a single press of the shutter button.
Each lens is a 26mm meniscus. The shutter has a theoretical speed of 1/100th of a second. There are 0.22 seconds between each opening.
A few years later, cameras of the same type, with variants of shape and colors, appeared, often used as advertising media. Finally, Lomography took over the concept, had a camera made in the name of ActionSampler, also offering it in a transparent version. It becomes a fashion phenomenon, which allows earlier models to come out of the drawers where they had been forgotten.
Since most of the models do not carry a brand or model name, we have chosen to collect them under the ActionSampler brand.
