Chronology of cameras Nikon
The Nikon F-601 sits between the Nikon F-401 and the Nikon F-801. In fact, the F-601 looks quite like the latter. Nevertheless the prism shape changes, and this is one of the differences with the Nikon F-801: the Nikon F-601 has a built-in flash, hidden under the hood which covers the prism. This built-in flash features automatic TTL fill-in (the flash has to be manually released).
Unlike the F-801, the Nikon F-601 features spot metering, predictive autofocus and automatic bracketing. However (it is cheaper all the same), it does not have the 1/8000, the 3.2 frames per second film advance, the depth of field preview, the interchangeable focusing screen, the remote control, etc.
