Chronology of cameras Chinon
Chinon, like several other manufacturers, succumbed to the Big Finder (BF) trend during the 1990s. These simple compact cameras were equipped with an oversized viewfinder, seemingly to facilitate framing. These models had a distinctive shape, characterized by the bulge above the viewfinder. The resemblance of certain models, such as the Carena BF-35 AF, raises the question of whether they were manufactured at a single location (in China) and then branded by various companies. The quality was generally not up to the standard of the rest of the brands' ranges. It was just a way for these brands to offer occasional and beginner photographers access to their lineup.
This camera is fully automatic, with autofocus, easy to use, and offers the added feature of imprinting the date of the shot on the photos. The "DB" at the end of the model name stands for Date Back.
