Que dire d'autre, si ce n'est qu'il a un frère ?
Scott-Atwater manufactured boats and outboard motors until the late 1950s. They never had any photographic activities. So, what's the connection?
Originally, Cliff Scott and H. Bruce Atwater owned a machine shop in Minneapolis. It was only from 1936/37 onwards that they began producing outboard motors at the request of Earl Dumont, who had acquired the rights to the Champion Outboard Motor, previously built by Sig Konrad. The company had a different business before entering the outboard motor manufacturing industry. In fact, it was only from 1939 that the company fully dedicated itself to making motors.
H. Brewster (Bruce) Atwater passed away in 1999. His obituary reveals that the foundry was established in 1932. It also mentions that one of his sons was the CEO of General Mills, the owner of the Sperry brand. This is coincidental since he was born in 1931 and only joined General Mills in 1958.
