Chronology of cameras Ricoh
The Ricoh RZ-3000 (known as Shotmaster RZ-3000 in certain markets) is quite bulky, but no more so than its competitors. During that time, the lens barrel is substantial. In the years to come, advancements in deployment mechanics and the use of different materials will reduce the size of the zoom. Here, it's a 38-130 mm lens. The viewfinder is notably advantageous in adapting to the selected focal length.
In low-light conditions, the LCD screen and the mode selection dial illuminate for a few seconds.
The flash is, of course, programmable with multiple modes. The film is fully extracted from its cartridge upon loading. It rewinds progressively as shots are taken, which protects already captured photos in case of accidental opening of the back. The view counter counts down.
There's also a version available with a date back.
This silver-grey version of the RZ-3000 is in all respects similar to the 130Z. Both cameras seem to be variants of the Myport 330 Super sold in Japan. The RZ-3000 was also available with the 'panorama' feature, (which was highly popular in Japan), and a date back.
It is a large, heavy, well made camera, despite the fact that the maximum aperture of the lens is only 4.5, and the lens has no significant wide angle.
