Chronology of cameras Rich-Ray
The Richca P is part of a series of Japanese cameras using Bolta film. These cameras can be found under various brand names in the late 1950s. They share a common body with the same shape. It's even possible that the mold used for their production is common to them.
It features a rear part with a central protrusion for the viewfinder, often with a metal piece on each side of the viewfinder. This piece doesn't seem to have a significant purpose since in some cases, like on this Richca P, it serves as anchor points for a small strap.
The front part is a large parallelepiped on which the shutter release button is located. The lens is sometimes protected by a cap connected to the device with a chain. On the front face, there's a dial for aperture selection.
Most of the time, the different models in this series are distinguished by the presence or absence of one of these features.
