Chronology of cameras Lemix
Anam is a South Korean industrial company in the field of electronics and semiconductors.
Lemix is a brand under which Anam manufactured cameras.
Starting from 1986, Anam assembled several models of camera bodies and Nikon lenses for the South Korean market. These camera bodies and lenses were marketed under the brands Anam Nikon or Nikon Lemix. Some models were available under both brand names.
These models were identical to those sold in the rest of the world, except for the added Anam or Lemix branding.
The serial numbers of the camera bodies and lenses were sometimes specific compared to the usual Nikon production.
In addition to the models produced in cooperation with Nikon, Anam marketed compact and bridge cameras under the Lemix brand alone.
The Lemix AV-9, released in May 1989, is a Chinon GS-7 (Genesis Series) rebranded for the South Korean market. Its price at launch was 418,000 KRW.
The fact that the user manual and the markings on the box are in Hangeul (Korean alphabet) suggests that no other market was targeted. Unlike the Chinon GS-7, which has the "JAPAN" indication under the camera, this Lemix does not have any indication of its country of origin.
Some units have the mention "Anam Precision CO. LTD" at the bottom on the back of the camera, although this is not the case with the one presented on this page.
The user manual mentions an additional optical attachment that can be mounted in front of the lens, allowing for a focal length of 105 mm.
