Chronology of cameras Addex
Addex was (or used to be) a company specialized in advertising and corporate gifts, established in 1987. Here, it uses the Ginfax PN-951 as an advertising medium or corporate gift.
In 2008, this camera was still listed in the manufacturer's catalog with the reference NC950 E or NC951 I (with flash). The website screenshots are dated August 12, 2008. The catalog references from 2008 are not exactly identical to those appearing on the cameras.
It is a camera called a "message camera," meaning it was intended to be customized with a sticker provided by the customer to turn it into an advertising medium.
It is equipped with a 9.5/27 mm lens. A small lever above the camera allows you to move two internal covers that mask the top and bottom of the negative. The useful negative format becomes 13 x 36 mm. When printed, two black bands appear and must be cut. As a result, the photo has a much wider width-to-height ratio than the original 24 x 36 and produces a panoramic effect.
This model is easily recognizable by the wavy cut of the sliding cover that protects the lens. It has a fixed focus lens. The film rewind crank is located under the device. Basic, it only requires a battery for the flash.
A patent filed in 2001 by Ginfax Development Limited shows the characteristic silhouette of this model. The patent pertains to an additional filter system for obtaining composite photos.
