The F-601M is the version manual, i.e. deprived of autofocus system, F-601. The two models simultaneously left in order to satisfy a larger panel with users. Indeed, in 1990, certain photographers were still refractory with the autofocus system.
Some more or less important details justify in more the difference in models. Important, the 601 M is deprived of spot measurement.
There exists a paradox with this camera. Although it is not autofocus, it should be equipped with autofocus objectives if one wants to have matric measurement.
