Chronology of cameras Photo-Hall

Traduction de Manuel M

One finds a very similar camera in the catalogues Photo-Hall from 1907/08. It remains there until May 1913. Beyond, the name remains but corresponds to a camera different in its form.
Visually conforms to the illustration, one nevertheless notices differences in description:

The weight: 510 g with glass ground, 470 without, whereas the catalogue speaks about 400 G…
Dimensions: 16 x 7.3 x 13, whereas it is presented with overall dimensions more reduced (16 x 7 x 10)

Once again, is it about a voluntary optimism, to make pass this camera for lighter and handy that what it is? Or does one have to reject the fault on a poor typographer, who is not even there any more to justify itself? …

Beyond the distributor (Photo-Hall did not manufacture), one finds resemblances to “Gamine” of G. Mattioli (moreover this camera was sold to me under this name), but even more with the “Simplette” of E. Mazo. Fronting is in all points identical with that of models known under this name, but… the Simplette is out of sheathed wood, whereas Perfect Stereo n° 3 is out of metal, also sheathed.

A very close camera is proposed by Manufrance in its catalogue 1909, page 472, reference 105. No mention is made there of the manufacturer.

Its characteristics:

- The scale of adjustment of the apertures is located on the bar of coupling of the two lenses.
- The cocking of the shutter is done thanks to the sliding pull knob in fronting.
- The shutter release is at the top of fronting, but it is probable that a socket for cable release existed on the side: one notices a round recess on the metallic edge and the sleeving appears a shoddy work.
- Optical folding viewfinder: lens with reference mark in cross and sight (No it is not a swearword…*)
- A nut of foot to the thread of the Congress is under the body of the camera.

This specimen have only one frame with glass ground, did exist an adaptable magazine, or only simple frames?
As often, it misses the flap of locking of the frames.
All the indications of fronting are engraved with the hand, undoubtedly with a graver!
