Chronology of cameras Cadot
Traduction de Manuel M
The Detective camera “Cyclos” is a folding view camera of which the front part is built like that of an ordinary detective, i.e. it contains all the organs of this one: lens, shutter, system for variable focusing, release with pear or hand, clear viewfinders, etc
This small view camera, which is provided with 12 simple chassis being only 4 millimeters thickness, is arranged of such way that one can fold up it by leaving the chassis in place, the part removed or not. So that if a subject appears unexpectedly that it is necessary to seize quickly, the view camera unfolding in only one movement and the plate being all prepared in the presence of the lens, one can as quickly point his camera as with a detective camera of rigid form.
(According to Annuaire général de la photographie of 1898)
