Chronology of cameras Lionel

I confirm that this is really a camera, and even a stereo camera. It was manufactured by (or for?) the American miniature train manufacturer Lionel, which exists since 1900.
The result is ....unexpected and, at first, one wonders if it is really a camera, and then how it operates. Shapes give it a complicated aspect it did not have.
The cocking of the shutter is made by sliding the cursor that is seen between the two lenses (equipped with sunshade). In front, a small lever is used to select the aperture. The advance of the film is done by pulling on a tab linked to the film and emerges on the side of the camera.
The chrome plated cursor at the top acts as an inner mask which slides inside the viewfinder. If you pull it outward, the word "closed" appears on the stem and the viewfinder is darkened.
The body is molten metal and, despite the use of bakelite for the viewfinder, the assembly is heavy in view of its size.
The produced images are measuring 13.72 x 15.24 mm.
A dedicated flash unit can come to connect to the above, framing the viewfinder.
Only 85,000 copies were built.
