Chronology of cameras Chinon
Starting in 1986, ChiNo marketed two ranges of cameras. Those with names ending in "1" were autofocus cameras, offering sometimes innovative features. The Auto G series provided simpler and more affordable models.

The Chinon Auto GLX is the smaller sibling of the Auto 1001. It shares the characteristics of this model, which was introduced simultaneously at Photokina in 1986, but with some downgraded features: a less bright lens, a narrower range of usable DX film speeds, a more limited metering range, and no automatic film rewind at the end of the roll.
