Chronology of cameras Minolta

The classification used here is adapted from those of Wolfgang Huller and Andrea Apra ', which is serving as the basis for data from the Minolta Manual Focus Collector's Society.

Here is the first version of the Minolta 35 C: about 850 copies have been produced, starting in May 1948, still using some parts of the 35 B, although the mechanism has been profoundly modified. Indeed, the spacing between two images is now 8 perforations, with an increased format of 24 x 33 mm. A small revolution that will make the films from Minolta 35 compatible with automated processing machines. We lose four photos per film.
Characteristics of the 35 C:
- 8 perforations.
- 24 x 33 mm negatives format.
- the top of the rewind wheel is smooth, without protuberance marking the axis.
On the other hand, this first version keeps the old slow speed control knob, readable from the front.
The frame counter is always readable from outside the disc, advancing counterclockwise.
The standard lens remains the 2.8 / 45 mm in its second version: a hole in the front facedisplays the value of the selected diaphragm, also visible on the side thanks to an engraved scale. The depth-of-field scale is readable from the top of the camera, unlike the first version of this lens.
There is no lever yet to ease the focusing.
