Chronology of cameras Certo
With such a manufacturer and model name, one would believe it to be an Italian rather than German camera; yet Certo is an old firm from Dresden. Therefore, the cameras manufactured after the Second World War were East German.
This model is very basic, with two apertures (8 and 11) and two speed settings (B and M). Strangely, M corresponds to a long exposure and B to an instantaneous shot, whereas in German, instantaneous is called "Momentaufnahme"!
The design of the camera's aperture yields a rather peculiar result, as the top cover and the plate supporting the lens completely detach from the rest. Essentially, you have metal (aluminum?) in one hand and metal covered in fabric in the other.
