Chronology of cameras Cadot
This Jumelle Type camera presents an anomaly in Cadot's production, as he typically fitted his cameras with shutters of his own manufacture. It is likely that this variant is an end-of-series model, perhaps even sold after Cadot ceased production.
The front face is indeed the one intended to house the integrated lens, and small aluminum plates conceal the openings of the adjustment and control mechanisms. This facade allows for vertical and horizontal shift, which is marked by a small index with values ranging from 1 to 3 in each direction. By transferring this value onto the sliding elements of the viewfinder, one achieves framing correction during aiming, although all this appears rather tedious. The two Congress-pitch screws may assist with leveling, but then, it seems simpler to frame on the ground glass.
