Chronology of cameras Goldmann
R. A. Goldmann Fabrik Photographischer Apparate was founded in 1888 in Vienna, Austria. The Goldmann Klapp-Taschen-Kamera (folding pocket camera) was a strut folding camera very similar to the Goldmann press camera, and probably of shared basic construction. The exact time of production is unknown, but probably from circa 1900 to 1905.
The camera is made of uncovered light wood, painted black, and is designed for 9 x 12 cm plates. It has a folding optical viewfinder and bubble level. The focal plane shutter has an early design and has controls for slit width and spring tension. The objective is a Goerz Berlin Dopp-Anastigmat Series 1C Celor of 120 mm of focal length and minimum aperture of 4. Foccusing is performed on the lens barrel.
It is a very difficult camera to find, and the sources of information are very scarce.
