Chronology of cameras Canon
The Canon EOS-1 series is intended for professionals, so it's natural that models in this series are always ahead of the rest of the brand's lineup. The digital EOS-1 cameras feature a full-frame sensor, equivalent in size to 24 x 36mm, allowing them to be used with EF lenses.
In 2004, the Mark II succeeded the EOS-1 Ds. In 2007, it was in turn replaced by the EOS-1 Ds Mark III. The original 1 Ds had only 11.1 MP, while the Mark II boasted 16.7 MP. The Mark II is equipped with the DIGIC II processor, providing faster processing speed and better results. The shooting speed (which also depends on file processing speed) is 4 frames per second with a maximum burst of 32 photos.
New features appear on this model: four JPEG file sizes with ten levels of compression and RAW recording. There are slots for either CF or SD cards, with the ability to record to either.
The 2-inch screen has a resolution of 230,000 pixels. Autofocus is based on 45 focusing points.
The shutter is rated for a guaranteed 200,000 cycles.
The body is rugged, made of magnesium alloy, with reinforced sealing.
Price in 2005: 8000 euros.
