Tele RB is presented in the form of very large box. It is also very heavy, since my domestic balance stopping with 2,2 kilos did not enable me to weigh it… except wanting to attract me the matrimonial wrath ! When it is in “home position”, there is no finder or of visible lens.
While turning the serrated roller located on the left, a surmounted rail of bellows moves forwards, by releasing a flap. This one while being raised, reveals the lens. The lens is Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. 4 X 5 Tessar Ic.It opens to 4,5.
A small hook retains the higher part of the camera. To raise it, it is enough to draw on the handle to the camera. The door hiding place bellows, which should be finished deploying manually. The higher edge of the trunk cone is bordered of velour. It is on this edge that it is necessary to affix the turn of the eyes to be able to viewfind. The camera is indeed a SLR.
On side, we see better the bellows of the finder . The visible mechanical parts on the side make it possible to regulate the aperture of the shutter with slits and its tension, for the shutter speed. Handling does not have anything intuitive and I seek the way exact to operate.
Behind an outgrowth is. It is about “Graflex Cut Film Magazine” manufactured by Kodak (Graflex is then property of George Eastman). The date of license makes it possible to know that this element is after 1920. The camera was manufactured between 1915 and 1923.
The accessory is intended to be able to change plan-film into full day. The large pull knob makes it possible to leave former plan-film and to store it in the small pocket made of leather.
