Chronology of cameras Chautard
Found at the bottom of a cellar in pitiful state, the restoration as well as the identification of this camera has not been easy.
This "jumelle" type single lens camera shows, stamped on its body, a winged logo, the center of which is completely faded and the trademark "Excelsior".
We can observe, on other cameras, the same logo with the same name "Excelsior" and at the center of the logo the initials P C (for Paul Chautard) for some or C&G (for Clement and Gilmer) for others.
We may nevertheless think that the camera shown on this page is from Paul Chautard because a detective camera bearing the famous logo also stamped on the metal body has been discovered showing the letters P C.
Shutter speeds are indicated by a digit (from 1 to 5) with no precise value.
