Bien sûr, cet appareil retient l'attention par son style baroque. Sa cellule habillée de cette sorte de "calandre" de voiture américaine peut faire rire ou sourire, mais l'ensemble est plutôt performant. L'Eyemax existe, comme la plupart des appareils contemporains japonais, avec un objectif 1,8 ou 2,8. Il s'agit d'un appareil semi-automatique.
En 1962, il valait 79,95 dollars, en 1,8 et 59,95 en 2,8.
Il existait des compléments optiques, dont l'ensemble était vendu 39,95 dollars.
