Chronology of cameras Rollei
The Rolleidoscop was the film equivalent of the three-lens reflex Heidoscop. It was built in several sequential models for the formats 4.5 x 10.7 cm and 6 x 13 cm, between 1926 and 1940. This specimen corresponds to the third model for the larger format (K.St.3, model 131) built between 1928 and 1931. From a total of 1615 cameras made for all models of the Rolleidoscop 6 x 13, the third model produced 400 cameras. Initially it was made for 117 film, as also the first model of the Rolleiflex. During the production of the model 131 the film format was changed to film 120 (around 1930), which is the case of the pictured camera.
The 4-panel articulated reflex hood is the same as in the Rolleiflex Original, and the front can be vertically shifted. The back is designed for the 12 frames of film 120 which dates the camera from around 1930-1931. The shutter is the stereo compound designed by Franke & Heidecke (65/2), delivering speeds in the range 1 to 1/300 plus B and Z. Viewing is made through a central Carl Zeiss Jena Triplet lens with 7.5 cm of focal length and f4.2. The viewing lens has no iris and the aperture control of the taking lenses in on the top. The taking lenses are a pair of Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar with 7.5 cm of focal length and f4.5.
