Chronology of cameras Aldi
This camera was sold by the South German division of Aldi. Products from this source are designed to be as cheap as possible in their class. This camera is a well made one, although its specifications are not world shaking. It has a 6.2 - 18.6 mm zoom lens (35 - 105 mm equivalent), and most of its other specs are equally prosaic. What is a little unexpected is that it has a 14 megapixel sensor. It had a companion model, the DC145, which is similar in most respects, but has a 4,5 - 22,5 mm (25 -125 mm equvalent) lens.
Aldi is a German supermarket chain known for its low prices. Originally, there was a family grocery store taken over by two brothers, Theodor and Karl Albrecht. The name is a contraction of ALbrecht DIskont. The chain has expanded significantly since the 1980s, and now there are several thousand stores selling food and non-food products in many countries, always at low prices and often under their own brand.
