Chronology of cameras Kodak
The Kodak Retina IB (note the capital B) is a Retina without rangefinder but with an uncoupled selenium cell. It was manufactured from 1957 to 1960.
It should not be confused with the I b (lowercase b, type 018). Apart from some details, the IB has the top part of the body similar to those of the "modern" Retinas (Retina IIc, IIC, IIIc and IIIC), but the poor is one-eyed since the secondary window of the rangefinder is not operational (honestly replaced by opaque glass for illuminating the collimated frame).
Another difference for easy identification, the viewfinder is located near the center of the case, while on the IIc and IIIc for example, it is located on the left side, so the photographer had to position the camera to the right of his face.
The selenium cell is not protected by a flap (unlike Retina III).
For the rest, the type of construction (still very neat) is similar to other cameras of the series. The bellows, in particular, is invisible from outside. The cocking lever is located on the bottom (which was true for some of the Retina of the time). The lens is interchangeable (front group of elements of the lens).
At first I thought it lacked on the device presented the small decorative rim encircling the lens and giving the code number of the lens as found on Retina II and III. This is not the case, the Retina IB does not seem to have received it!
