Chronology of cameras Bellieni
This stereoscopic trapezoïdal camera has a vertical shift of 17 mm, and its eyepiece can also be shifted in the opposite direction to ensure correct framing (No. 498).
It is specially equipped for telephotography, distinguishing itself from others by the presence of a small viewfinder outlining the round field of the telephoto lens. It was supplied with an adjustable spirit level that was placed on the camera to precisely replicate the same inclination during the two successive stations. The telephoto lens has its own focusing mechanism, descending to 5 meters in four complete turns ("Tele-Negative R 27 mm Carl Zeiss No. 57861").
The magazine can hold 18 plates, equivalent to 9 stereoscopic pairs.
Focusing is done through a double lever commanding two helicoids around the lenses.
The lenses are Anastigmat 1:8 F=110 mm D. R. P. 56109 Carl Zeiss with serial numbers 24700 and 24688.
The guillotine shutter has adjustable speeds regulated by a brake from 0 to 5 and a selector for Bulb and Instantaneous modes.
Lenses "Anastigmat 1:8 F=110 mm D. R. P. 56109 Carl Zeiss No. 24700 and 24688".
The Belliéni Jumelle type cameras, not having a removable magazine, had to be loaded in a darkroom. For travelers, Belliéni recommended the use of a loading sleeve, and to facilitate the operation, they offered cardboard plate boxes.
