Chronology of cameras Agfa
The silhouette of the Agfamatic 110, like that of the Kodak Instamatic, marked the 1970s. It is that of a rectangular body, often two-tone (black and silver), with the side sliding part serving both as a protective cover for the lens and as a film advance lever, following the principle of Minox cameras. The film advance system is called Repitomatic by Agfa. The silhouette is completed by a fashionable metal strap of the time.
On these cameras, the shutter release button is characteristic, as it is the Sensor.
In the Agfamatic numbering system, the thousands series (1000, 2000, 3000, etc.) refers to cameras with connectors for Flashcubes. The 8 series (1008, 2008, 3008, etc.) refers to the same cameras, but with a connector for Flipflash.
The thousands series can be Flash pocket if the cameras have a built-in electronic flash.
The 8 series can also be Tele pocket when the camera's focal length is doubled or Makro pocket when the lens is also macro. The Tele function is achieved by adding an additional lens to the lens. The viewfinder is also modified accordingly.
The shape of the 901 series cameras is different from that of the other Agfamatics since the film advance is driven by a motor and there is no longer a sliding part. The plastic housing is entirely black, except for the orange Sensor trigger.
In 1982, Agfa revived its range by distinguishing a Sport model in Ferrari red and an adventurer Tramp model in khaki with US Army stencil markings.

1 Automatic adjustment when the flash is installed.
__________Thanks to a retractable lens, the minimum focusing distance of this model can be adjusted from 50 to 25 cm. The distance is set by turning a wheel located on top of the camera. Like most Agfamatic cameras, this one has a "Sensor" shutter release with an extremely gentle touch.
In the viewfinder, a red/green light indicates a shutter speed faster than 1/30 s.
The provided metal strap separates into 2 segments, with a 25 cm segment allowing control of the minimum shooting distance.
In contrast to the Agfamatic 6008 makro pocket, the 5008 does not have a self-timer, and the viewfinder does not provide a reminder of the selected distance.
The Sensor shutter release button consists of a 16 mm diameter orange-colored disc, set within a 0.7 mm high chrome-plated brass collar designed to guide the finger to the center. Below the disc is the button itself, with a very short travel (less than 0.5 mm). A pressure of 300 grams on the plastic disc is sufficient to trigger the shutter. The motion blur caused by the release is thus extremely limited. Agfa will gradually equip all new models with this trigger and make it their number one advertising feature.
The patent corresponding to this shutter release button was filed in Germany in 1968 (published in 1970) under the number DE 1622174, and then in the United States in 1972 (published in 1976) under the number US 3,950,773. The title of this patent is "Operating Means for Photographic Cameras."
