This is a gray variation showing the new Imperial logo which appeared when Herbert George Co became Imperial Camera Corp. in 1961.
It does not have any drawing above the lens, but a small aluminum colour embossed plate.
Starting in 1961, the Herbert George company was succeeded by Imperial. The cameras produced by the new brand continued in the same vein as those of Herbert George.
According to the patent application dates, Imperial remained active until the early 1980s but increasingly shifted production to Asia.
The patents filed by Imperial Camera Corp. list George Irwin as the inventor, who had already worked for Herbert George in the latter half of the 1950s. The illustrations accompanying the patent applications correspond to Herbert George or Imperial cameras and accessories.
