Chronology of cameras Ricoh

The Adler A is a 4.5 x 6 camera distributed by Asahi Kogaku Kogyo after its purchase by Riken (the predecessor of Ricoh).
The Ricoh's historic web site explains that with the war effort, the factory had to make military binoculars and the brand turned to external supplies for the production of cameras.
Actually camera-wiki teaches us that the unknown manufacturer's frame is common with the one of the Sintax and Collex, cameras distributed by other brands.

With its Zeh Goldi-style cross-brace scissors, the device has more of a klapp-camera with a door than a folding structure.
The Peerless everset shutter is very close to that which one meets on the Adler Six, another A.K.K production of that time.
The button visible next to the viewfinder is used to unlock the lid, the other controls are located on the optical block.

The back has two red windows on the path of the 6 x 9 numbering, distant by five centimeters, they allow to expose two 4.5 x 6 views by showing the same number successively in the two windows.

The copy presented here is missing of its leatherette, so it is impossible to get an idea of the embossings that was probably included in the coating.
