L'Optio S55 est un appareil pour le grand public, qui fait ce qu'on attend de lui. Son utilisation est simple et les résultats sont corrects. Il est juste un peu lent. Entre chaque photo le temps d'attente est de l'ordre de la seconde. L'écran passe au noir un court instant après le déclenchement, pour indiquer à l'utilisateur que la photo est prise.
