Chronology of cameras Kodak

Prolific series, the Retinette are not the easiest to identify. this one carries the serial No. 929,532 which corresponds to a Type 022 built between 1954 and 1958.
This is the first Retinette without bellows. A rectangular aluminum lens mount replaces it.
For adjusting the exposure, there is a speed / aperture coupling system that (once the good graduation is selected through a hand cell) to change speed or aperture as needed while keeping the good couple.
For the focusing, no help: A simple ring, scaled in meters, that rotates in front of the indication of the depth of field.
The green lever on the lens side is the self timer that is not available on the early models.
Do not seek the cocking lever at the same place as usual: There is not. In fact, it is under the unit. Another feature is the the opening of the body: No problem to find the pivot bolt on the bottom. But when it is rotated, nothing happens. It's normal, it's not a lock, it is the cover of the lock. Once turned, it gives access to a small button that must be pressed to open the back.
Compur-Rapid Shutter 1s to 1 / 500th + B
Schneider Kreuznach lens Reomar 3.5 / 45 mm.

From the body of this unit, Pathé will assemble the Retinette f, by adding an Angénieux lens.
