Chronology of cameras Agfa
At Agfa, in the early 1950s, two folding cameras were produced for export to the USA under the name Ventura:
The Ventura 66 (6 x 6 format), which was the export version of the Silette V.
The Ventura 69 (6 x 9 format), which was based on the Billy Record I.
Both of these export versions were further developed into "Deluxe" variants.
Intended for the American market, the Ventura 69 was manufactured in Germany in the US-occupied zone, as indicated by the text on the covering of the folding cover. Initially, it was sold by Agfa as the Ventura 69 from 1949/50 to 1952. After 1952, Ansco sold it under the name Viking. In 1952, the concept of western occupation zones disappeared, making way for the Federal Republic of Germany. With a new country came a new name!
