Le Luxoflex fut fabriqué par Atoms pour le compte de Photo-Plait, sur la base d'un Atoflex. C'est ce qui explique que l'obturateur soit un Atos 2, avec ses caractéristiques habituelles; par contre l'objectif Angénieux est remplacé par un Berthiot 4,5 / 75 mm.
Cet appareil se trouve sous divers noms chez Drépy, Kinax etc... autant de fabricants qui, pour intégrer un 6 x 6 réflex à leur gamme, ont fait appel à Atoms.
La marque "Luxoflex" fur déposée le 27 avril 1953 au greffe du tribunal de commerce de la Seine (427740) par Etablissements Photo-Plait (sarl).
