Chronology of cameras Certo
Certo produced various cameras using the name Dolly. They were strut or folding bed cameras with various formats.
This small strut camera that produces 4 x 3 cm images on 127 film is available in several versions A or B with frame or optical viewfinder, different lenses or shutters. Identification would therefore be Dolly 4 x 3 miniature model A.
Aside from its viewfinder (there is a same camera with a frame viewfinder) this Model A is probably one of the simplest of the range, there is not focus adjustment and just three apertures available, 8,12 or 18 grouped at the very end of the engraved plate that could accommodate more values ??.
The Gauthier Vario shutter -without self timer has a special feature: with this type of shutter always ready , cocking and triggering are on the heels of one another . Here, when you insert a pin or a needle into the small hole located opposite to the trigger, by acting on the lever, the cocking is done but not the shutter release, the shutter triggers only when the needle is withdrawn . By attaching the needle to a long wire then we obtain some kind of remote control .
Dolly 3x4 A miniature model has clearly served as a model for the Riken Kinsi.
